To connect the approved Forty Mile Wind Power Plant to the grid, the local utility upgraded its transmission system in the area, including the construction of a new switching station (called Murray Lake Switching Station). |
Rising Edge’s Scope of Work |
Rising Edge was responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of the new Murray Lake 326S switch station, along with modifications to the existing 240kV transmission line 964L to create an in/out connection, and approximately 1.1km of underground fiber system. This scope included both the substation and telecommunication sections. Additional scopes were added to execute at multiple substation sites around Medicine Hat, activities included (but were not limited to) DC load study, protection upgrades, supply and install new relays, modify existing relays, supply and install of new P&C, SCADA, and telecom cabinets, supply and installation of telecom RTU, supply and installation of transformers, current transformers, live-tank breakers, etc. at the following substation sites: Bowmanton 244s, Forty Mile 516s, Granlea 1024s, Murray Lake 326s, Whitla 251s, and Peace Butte 404s. |
