Troy joined Rising Edge in 2002 as employee #2, back when it was a 4-person commissioning company. Over 23 years, he’s helped build it into a 600+ employee EPC contractor operating across North America, moving from Commissioning Technologist to Estimator to EVP along the way. Few people in this industry have watched a company grow from the ground up quite like he has.

His take on what actually sets Rising Edge apart:

“The high-voltage industry has a structural problem most clients don’t see until it costs them: execution risk gets passed from party to party. Engineering firms hand off to procurement teams, who hand off to subcontracted crews, who hand off to a separate commissioning team, and every handoff is a place where scope, context, and accountability can get lost.

We built Rising Edge to close those gaps. Our competitive advantage is simple: the right people, executing full-scope projects in-house. When one team owns a project from design through commissioning, nothing gets lost in translation, and that discipline is exactly why we built STRIDE: Safety, Teamwork, Responsibility, Integrity, Deliver, Excellence into everything we do.

That matters more now than ever. The grid is absorbing more renewable generation, more battery storage, and more complexity than it was built for, and clients need contractors who can move as fast as the demand curve. It takes a team that already knows how to execute together, because they’ve done it before, on a hundred other projects.

You can see that approach across our work all over North America: full-scope EPC delivery on renewable energy and battery storage projects, substation construction and grid infrastructure upgrades, and long-term programs supporting critical energy infrastructure assets across the continent. Different scopes, but always the same standard: in-house, accountable, and built to deliver.

None of that happens because of a system alone. It happens because of the depth of knowledge and expertise our team holds; knowledge built through hundreds of projects, refined over decades, and applied by people who understand this work inside and out. That kind of expertise can’t be subcontracted in. Our in-house capability is only as strong as the people behind it.

As the grid keeps evolving and Rising Edge expands into new markets, that same standardized, in-house, people-first model is the one we’re scaling.

The energy sector doesn’t slow down. Neither do we.”
