Project Scope

The Forty Mile Wind Farm is a project that aims to deliver up to 400 megawatts (MW) of clean energy. 

Construction was planned in two phases: Phase I will feature forty-nine (49) turbines with a total generating capacity of approximately 280 MW, and Phase II will add twenty-one (21) turbines, contributing an additional 120 MW. The wind farm spans 64,000 acres of privately-owned farmland.  

Rising Edge’s Scope of Work

Rising Edge was responsible for the engineering, construction, and commissioning of the 240/34.5kV collector substation, named Forty Mile 516S substation.  This also included completing the underground collector systems connecting the turbines to the substation. 

This included the EPC fabrication of the substation control building and all of it’s P&C, SCADA, Telecommunications, etc., panels – all designed and assembled in Rising Edge’s Fabrication facility.
